Consult your doctor or pharmacist before combining Passionflower with sleeping tablets, sedatives, anxiety medicines, antidepressants, sedating antihistamines, opioid pain medicines, seizure medicines or other products that affect the nervous system.
Do not combine multiple calming or sleep products without checking their complete ingredient lists and discussing the combination with a qualified healthcare practitioner.
Do not use Passionflower as a replacement for prescribed anxiety, antidepressant or sleep medication.
Do not change or discontinue prescribed medication without advice from the treating healthcare professional.
Persistent anxiety, panic attacks, severe agitation, ongoing low mood or sleep disruption affecting normal daily life require appropriate professional care.
Thoughts of self-harm or suicide require immediate assistance from an emergency or crisis service.
The current product provides an adult dosage only.
Do not give this concentrated 45% ethanol practitioner preparation to a child or adolescent unless an age-appropriate amount has been individually prescribed.
European guidance for some Passionflower preparations in adolescents over 12 years should not automatically be transferred to this Australian 1:2 alcohol-containing extract.
Discontinue use at least seven days before general anaesthesia, surgery, dental surgery or an invasive procedure.
Tell your surgeon and anaesthetist that you use Passionflower. Follow any longer discontinuation period recommended by your surgical team.
