RESCO LIQUID FAQSCommon Questions About ResCo Liquid
What is MediHerb ResCo Phytosynergist?

ResCo is a practitioner-grade liquid respiratory formula containing Licorice, Mullein, Elecampane, Euphorbia, Grindelia, Ginger and Fennel essential oil.

The herbs are traditionally used to support respiratory mucous membranes, normal mucus clearance and temporary relief from mild bronchial cough.

What is ResCo traditionally used for?

ResCo is traditionally used in Western herbal medicine to help relieve respiratory catarrh and mild bronchial cough.

It may also support healthy respiratory mucous membranes, the normal cough reflex and the clearance of respiratory secretions.

What does respiratory catarrh mean?

Respiratory catarrh describes excessive or troublesome mucus affecting the nose, throat, bronchial airways or other parts of the respiratory tract.

ResCo may support normal mucus clearance, but persistent thick, bloody or unusually coloured mucus requires appropriate medical assessment.

Is ResCo intended for a dry cough or a chesty cough?

ResCo is most closely positioned for mild bronchial cough accompanied by mucus or respiratory catarrh.

A persistent dry cough may have a different cause, including asthma, reflux, allergy, medication effects or airway irritation, and should be assessed when it does not settle.

Does ResCo suppress coughing?

ResCo is intended to support the body’s normal cough reflex rather than completely suppress it.

A productive cough can help clear mucus from the airways. Severe, persistent or unexplained coughing still requires professional assessment.

Can ResCo treat bronchitis, pneumonia or another respiratory infection?

No.

ResCo may provide traditional symptom support, but it is not an antibiotic or antiviral medicine and should not replace medical care for bronchitis, pneumonia, influenza, COVID-19, whooping cough or another respiratory illness.

Why should people with high blood pressure avoid ResCo?

ResCo contains Licorice root, which may increase blood pressure, promote fluid retention and reduce potassium levels in susceptible people.

The formula is contraindicated in high blood pressure, oedema, congestive heart failure and low blood potassium.

Can ResCo be used during pregnancy, breastfeeding or childhood?

ResCo is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Do not give it to a child under two years of age without medical advice. Children and adolescents require an individually selected, age-appropriate amount from a qualified healthcare practitioner.

How much ResCo Liquid should be taken?

The listed adult dosage is 5 mL diluted in water or juice three times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Measure each dose accurately and do not exceed the recommended or professionally prescribed amount.

How should ResCo Liquid be stored?

Store it below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.

Because the formula contains 46% ethanol, keep the bottle tightly closed and away from flames, sparks and hot surfaces. Store securely out of reach of children.
