HIPEP FAQSCommon Questions About HiPep
What is MediHerb HiPep used for?

MediHerb HiPep is a herbal tablet designed to support upper digestive comfort. It contains herbs traditionally used in Western herbal medicine to help relieve mild digestive discomfort, indigestion, bloating, flatulence and related digestive symptoms.

What makes HiPep different from a general digestive supplement?

HiPep is more focused on upper digestive comfort rather than broad digestive enzyme or probiotic support. It combines deglycyrrhised licorice, chamomile and meadowsweet, which are traditionally used in Western herbal medicine for mild gastrointestinal comfort and digestive symptoms.

Does HiPep contain licorice?

Yes. HiPep contains deglycyrrhised licorice root extract. This form of licorice has had most of the glycyrrhizin removed, but customers should still follow the label directions and speak with a health professional if they have existing health conditions or are unsure if it is suitable.

Does HiPep help with bloating and indigestion?

Chamomile and meadowsweet are traditionally used in Western herbal medicine to help relieve symptoms of indigestion and digestive discomfort, including bloating and flatulence. If symptoms are ongoing, severe, worsening or unusual, it is best to seek professional advice.

When should I take HiPep?

Adults are generally directed to take 1 tablet three times daily. The label also gives different timing guidance depending on the type of digestive discomfort, so always follow the product directions or the advice of your healthcare professional.

Is HiPep suitable for vegetarians or vegans?

Yes. HiPep is listed as vegan and vegetarian friendly. It also has no added gluten, milk, lactose, soya bean, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, crustacea, corn, egg, sesame seeds or artificial colours.

Who should avoid HiPep?

HiPep should not be used by anyone with a known allergy to chamomile. Caution is also recommended for people sensitive to plants from the daisy family, as chamomile belongs to this plant family.

Does HiPep contain salicylates?

HiPep contains meadowsweet and a very small amount of methyl salicylate. People who are hypersensitive to salicylates should avoid meadowsweet-containing products unless advised otherwise by a qualified health professional.

Can I take HiPep with other digestive products?

It depends on the product and your personal situation. HiPep may overlap with other digestive or herbal formulas, especially those containing chamomile, licorice, meadowsweet or salicylate-containing herbs. Check the labels carefully and ask a healthcare professional if you are using medicines or multiple supplements.
