What saffron is
Saffron is derived from the dried stigma of Crocus sativus, a plant traditionally valued for its colour, aroma and use in herbal medicine systems.
In supplement formulas, saffron may appear as whole-herb extract, standardised saffron extract, affron®, Safr’Inside™ or other branded extract forms. These products are usually positioned around mood balance, emotional wellbeing, stress support, restlessness, cognitive support or broader nervous system support.
The practical point is simple: saffron should not be treated like a generic “calm” ingredient. It is more closely connected to mood and emotional wellbeing formulas than many general nervous system nutrients.
Saffron comes from the stigma of Crocus sativus.
Found as standalone herbal liquid, capsule formulas and mood-support blends.
