Diverticulitis Support Kit — Soothe, Rebuild, Maintain

Built for calm progression: soothe → add soluble fibre → diversify slowly.

Soluble Fibre Anchor

Psyllium (small dose, slowly increased) supports comfortable stool form in recovery.

Gentle Prebiotic

PHGG is typically well-tolerated and helps nurture microbial balance without excess gas.

Gut Lining Support

L-Glutamine is used in recovery phases to support calm restoration. Start low, pace changes.

Rhythm & Relaxation

Magnesium glycinate in the evening supports a steadier daily rhythm and better wind-down.

How to use (typical): Start with food first. When pain eases, add psyllium & PHGG in tiny amounts; trial L-glutamine; take magnesium at night. Adjust with your practitioner.
What’s inside (4 items): Psyllium Husk • PHGG (Partially Hydrolysed Guar Gum) • L-Glutamine • Magnesium Glycinate.
Good fit when: You’re past the acute flare and want a simple, gentle path to rebuild tolerance and stability.

Directions (gentle progression)
  • Psyllium: Start 1/4–1/2 tsp in water/porridge daily. Increase slowly every 3–5 days if comfortable.
  • PHGG: Begin 1–2 g daily with food. Increase gradually, watching for gas/urgency.
  • L-Glutamine: Trial 2–3 g once daily in water on an empty stomach; increase only if well tolerated.
  • Magnesium glycinate: Evening serve with/after dinner.

Introduce one change at a time. If symptoms reappear, pause and step back for 24–48 hours.

Who it’s for / not for
  • For: Adults in the recovery/maintenance phase after a diverticulitis flare who tolerate soft foods.
  • Not for: Active flare, pregnancy/breastfeeding, bowel obstruction, or where your clinician advises otherwise.

Quick FAQs

Can I take these during an active flare?
No. Prioritise medical care and a short low-residue plan first. Add these only as pain settles and soft foods are tolerated.
Which do I introduce first?
Food first → then a small serve of psyllium or PHGG. Trial L-glutamine once daily if comfortable. Keep magnesium for evening rhythm.
Can I add nuts/seeds later?
Often yes, in maintenance. Add in small amounts with meals, chew well, and monitor comfort.
